Annette Werndl
Annette Werndl draws much of her inspiration from music, which plays an important role in her distinctive approach to color. Sounds, voices, landscapes, streets, and architectural forms leave impressions that carry into her work and shape the colors she chooses. Her paintings are defined by bold and vibrant tones that gain their luminosity through contrast. Each color holds its own presence while remaining in harmony with the whole composition.
No single tone dominates. Instead, the colors respond to one another with rhythm and balance. Werndl approaches color much like a musician approaches sound. Through careful attention to tone, contrast, and movement, she creates visually rich compositions that transform sensory experience into a language of color.
