Richard Humann

Richard Humann is a New York-based neo-conceptual artist whose work has been presented internationally in museums, galleries, biennials, and public art projects. Born and raised in New York’s Lower Hudson Valley, he divides his time between Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and Woodstock, New York.

Humann’s work has been exhibited at institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Kemi Art Museum, Tampere Art Museum, Macao Art Museum, Kaohsiung Museum of Art, and the Espoo Museum of Modern Art. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 2003 and 2017 and represented the United States at the Karachi Biennale in 2017.

His international practice has included residencies at Yaddo, the Emily Harvey Foundation in Venice, Ssamzie Space in Seoul, and the Gyeonggi Creation Center in South Korea. Humann has received support from the Brooklyn Arts Council and the New York State Council on the Arts. In 2016, he was awarded a Pollock Krasner Foundation grant.
