Leemour Pelli

 Leemour Pelli is a New York-based artist whose practice spans painting, sculpture, installation, works on paper, photography, and printmaking. Her work explores human relationships and emotional states through poetic and anatomical imagery. Figures merge into one another while enlarged hearts, overlapping lungs, and other elements of the body reveal inner realities. Pelli describes her paintings as X-rays of life, exposing the emotional experiences beneath the surface. Pelli received her BFA in Painting from the School of Visual Arts and a Master of Arts degree in Art History from Hunter College. She presented solo exhibitions at Annina Nosei Gallery in New York in 2004 and 2005. In 2026, she had a solo exhibition at Leonovich Gallery in Chelsea curated by Annina Nosei. Her work has been exhibited at institutions and galleries including PS1 Institute of Contemporary Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art at Champion in Connecticut, and Robert Fontaine Gallery in Miami. Her work has also received critical attention in Artforum, ARTnews, The New York Times, and other publications. Pelli lives and works in New York City.
